About Me
Presence Embodied began as a seed in 2016, though its roots stretch back much further—into the unraveling of my own awakening. For many years, I numbed my inner world through substances, until a pivotal decision in 2013 to get sober marked the beginning of a deeper journey. That choice opened the door to the very challenges I had been avoiding.
In truth, the awakening began earlier—perhaps in 2008, in the quiet of my living room, during a spontaneous and profound encounter with Dr. Gabor Maté. In that moment of compassionate confrontation, I began to see how my unconscious beliefs were orchestrating my patterns. Then again, in 2014, at a silent retreat, unresolved traumatic memories resurfaced, signaling that the healing required a deeper descent.
At the time, I was teaching yoga, meditation, and breathwork. Yet when people came to me with anxiety, trauma, and fear, I realized I lacked the inner scaffolding to hold space for what was arising. This led me to the Nalanda Institute, where I studied Contemplative Psychotherapy under the guidance of Bob Thurman, Dr. Joe Loizzo, and other gifted teachers. The academic rigor and spiritual depth grounded me.
Still, I craved a more integrated, experiential framework—and in a synchronistic unfolding, I joined the second cohort of Dr. Gabor Maté's Compassionate Inquiry training. There, I met my own resistance again: the unconscious narratives and emotional wounds that had kept me looping, despite all the studies and teachings. I saw how fear and self-doubt would rise whenever I neared a threshold of growth.
This inquiry illuminated yet another missing piece: a connection to my soul self. My work with Claudia Navone opened a portal into the multidimensional nature of consciousness. I began to understand myself not only as a human navigating trauma and transformation, but also as a being of light, in dialogue with the higher realms of love, wisdom, and purpose.
Presence Embodied has since become a living process—a path of unfolding. It begins by honoring the challenges, conflicts, and patterns that surface in our lives as gateways. When we meet them with awareness and compassion, they become vehicles for transformation. The more we release the grip of the controlling mind, the more we attune to the intelligence of the heart, body, and soul.

- What is Somatic Psychotherapy?
- Somatic psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that integrates the body's wisdom and sensations into the healing process. Unlike traditional talk therapy, it recognizes that trauma and emotional patterns are stored not just in the mind, but in the body's nervous system, tissues, and movement patterns. Through gentle attention to sensation, breath, and movement, somatic psychotherapy helps release stored tension and create new pathways for healing.
- What is Compassionate Inquiry?
- Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté that helps individuals uncover the unconscious beliefs, emotional patterns, and early experiences that drive their behaviors and relationships. Through compassionate questioning and deep listening, it reveals how past experiences shape present reality, creating opportunities for conscious choice and transformation.
- What is Contemplative Psychotherapy?
- Contemplative psychotherapy integrates Buddhist psychology and meditation practices with Western psychotherapy. It combines the academic rigor of traditional therapy with the spiritual depth of contemplative practices, helping individuals develop awareness, compassion, and wisdom in their healing journey. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
- What is Embodiment?
- Embodiment refers to the practice of bringing conscious awareness into the physical body, learning to listen to its sensations, movements, and wisdom. It involves moving beyond intellectual understanding to experiencing life through the body's intelligence, creating a deeper connection between mind, body, and spirit.
- What is Trauma-Informed Therapy?
- Trauma-informed therapy recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and understands potential paths for recovery. It emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both provider and survivor, and helps rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. This approach acknowledges that trauma affects the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
